This was my first experience dining at Bubbas and I must say – it was amazing.
The decor is stylish, elegant, calming and very modern (not stuck in the 90s at all). We arrived on a busy Saturday evening without a booking and the staff were nice enough to still seat us. The service was excellent and staff were really friendly.
Overall the food was excellent! I’d recommend the ackee and saltfish parcels (starter course) and peppered steak (main course). We were so full by this point that we didn’t choose a dessert but from looking at the menu I’d recommend them all.
Above all, I would say that Bubbas excelled on attention to detail and finishing touches. From small things such as serving cranberry juice with a delightful bunch cranberries inside the glass, to wrapping steamed snapper inside a banana leaf…I wa extremely impressed. This restaurant is the perfect addiction to an area that most may not recognise for fine dining…I’d definitely recommend it and will be going back to sample the desserts!

We’ve lived a short walk from Tulse Hill station for over 20 years so know the checkered history of ‘restaurants’ there. But when old friends came to stay who like to try something different we took a chance on Bubba’s despite the reviews we saw mentioning a blue light theme. Anyway when we arrived that was no longer an issue (they had noted the reviews) and so began an excellent eating experience. ??We are used to fine quality home cooked West Indian fare but this was a cut above, superb twists to old favorites presented with style. Helpful, confident service & wicked cocktails to boot.?? We will be returning.
